Responsible Photography Projects

 Responsible Photography photo projects aims:-

  • Provide an opportunity for discovery, expression and creativity regardless of  age, ability, background or culture.

  • Encourage respect, understanding and positive experiences

  • 'Discover, Explore and Document', using photography as the means to do so

  • Develop projects and skills that can help participants understand or change their lives or their environment

  • Encourage children, young people and adults with different abilities or learning challenges to have fun with photography

  • Help participants gain confidence in themselves and their abilities - and develop talents, skills or resources that they can use in their future.

  • Enable those who are often, not from choice, the subjects of photography, an opportunity to take their own photographs

  • Involve children, young people or adults who are often over-looked

  • Encourage children and young people to pursue further studies  and discover untapped skills

  • Provide economic benefit by selling images produced by participants in photo projects

  • Most important - photo projects are fun, collaborative and participatory for everyone involved!

Responsible Photography - collaborative and participatory photography

Different outcomes of Responsible Photography Photo Projects

  • Provide a direct perspective of people's lives through photographs seen and taken by 'the eyes of the people'  who live those lives.

  • Introduce photography as not only fun, but as an educational tool and a different way to develop individual and group skills.

  • Use photography as a form of inter-cultural communication between participants and people from different  countries.

  • Discover and Document  - respond to  local environments, communities, nature, wildlife and many more topics through the camera and photography.

  • In some instances, develop an economic benefit from photography or the new skills acquired.
